The following is the Brief List of Technologies that InnoGP carries out Research & Development
1. Unmanned Battlefield Systems
Unmanned Battlefield Systems open up plenty of possibilities for Armed Forces. Surveillance & Reconnaissance form major part of the role for these systems apart from Combat roles. These can be in Remotely Operated, Semi-Autonomous or Fully Autonomous Modes. These unmanned systems on Ground, Airborne, at seas on surface and subsurface can give tremendous rather unbelievable advantage to the Fighting Forces.
Even most intriguing part of these systems are innovative applications that were not part of the earlier paradigm of Armed Forces Operations. This is the most exciting part of this Technology Domain. It is only limited by the imaginations of a creative mind to use these technologies in war fighting in completely novel ways.
The very positive side of Unmanned & Robotic Systems is its tremendous potential for use in peace for civilian applications especially in hazardous conditions.
a) Unmanned Aerial Vehicle:
An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle is under development with the following Specifications:
Completely made of Composites mainly Glass Fibre epoxy, Engine Driven, EO/IR sensor, Autonomous Navigation including GPS denied mode, Predefined Way-Point navigation, Obstacle Avoidance, Multiple Payloads possible.
b) Autonomous Sea Surveillance System:
An Autonomous Sea Surveillance System has been designed and now under detail engineering. A patent has been granted. Complete Ocean weather monitoring and other aspects of marine environment. Unlimited Endurance, Energy Harnessing from Solar PVs, Waves and Wind.
2. Fibre Reinforced Composite Structures
Material Technologies have always been at the forefront in enhancing the performance of Defence & Aerospace Systems be it fighter aircrafts or Main Battle Tanks.
The Fibre Reinforced Advanced Composites have become the only way to make Lighter and Stronger Structural Systems.
3. Bridging Systems
A Universal Modular Truss Bridge has been conceptualised and patented. A prototype has been fabricated and tested. 50% Lighter than the Bailey Bridge, deployment method similar to Bailey Bridge.
Other types of Bridges in prototype stage are Helicopter Portable Bridge, Cable Supported Bridge, Mountaineering Bridge. These Bridges are extremely useful during natural disasters and also during special occasions to supplement the existing infrastructure.
A Reinforcement Kit for Bailey (RKB) has been developed and tested that can enhance the Load Carrying Capacity of an existing Bailey Bridge in-situ. This is an Easy to fit kit that can be fitted within a day.
SIMULATION BASED DESIGN
Computational Mechanics revolutionised the way Engineering Systems are being developed for a long time. Application of simulation tools viz. FEM & CFD became a norm of the day in Engineering Design & Analysis practice. However, the effectiveness of any tool depends on the skills and knowledge of the engineers who employ these tools. Just like an Expert and a Greenhorn would produce totally different results using the same tools in whatever field. It is essential that these simulation tools are effectively used in design process. InnoGP provides critical insights into the system behaviour through the tools of Computational Mechanics.
